Why the bump2babe Guide?

www.bump2babe.ie

This Guide was collated and designed by two of Cuidiú's antenatal teachers, Louisa Crowley and Niamh Healy in demand for more up-to-date information on maternity services available to parents in Ireland.

The idea for the guide is driven by the concept of informed choice for everyone. Our objective is that each user of the guide can easily access 'jargon-free' information and so help them make informed decisions about their maternity care.

The 2011 production of the Guide is a comprehensive on-line edition and presented in our web site bump2babe, see link on top of page. The questionnaire was designed to gather birthing statistics and to acquire information on services, policies & practices of all 22 maternity units in the State. It was sent to the units during December 2010. 100% of the maternity units partook in what was a lengthy survey and we are very grateful to them for the hours taken to complete their responses. With full participation of maternity provider you can compare what is on offer in Ireland.

Cuidiú is extremely proud of it's achievement in producing the bump2babe Guide as there is no other source in Ireland for parents to access this valuable information. It is a unique and impartial resource and it really allows you to make fully informed decisions about your maternity care. Find out all you need to know about your care during pregnancy, labour and birth, and after your baby is born by our visiting bump2babe link.

This project was part funded by grant aid from the HSE and from the Citizens Information Board and part-funded by ours sponsors, Pampers.
